DeSantis Reveals ‘Huge’ Reconciliation Package If President

(Republican Leader) – Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is currently running for president, unveiled a new plan on Monday for a “huge” reconciliation package should he end up becoming the GOP nominee and take down Joe Biden in the general election, which would help to aid him in advancing a few of his key policy platforms.

Mary Lou Masters of the Daily Caller reports, “DeSantis pledged to tackle the border crisis, repeal President Joe Biden’s Green New Deal and bolster the economy in a reconciliation package, which is budget and spending legislation Congress can expedite, overriding filibuster rules, he told New Hampshire radio host Hugh Hewitt Monday. This marks the first time DeSantis has addressed reconciliation since his presidential announcement in late May, which he said he and his team will continue to brainstorm on.”

“We are going to have a huge package for reconciliation that is going to cover a lot of different things,” DeSantis stated during the plan’s reveal. “Obviously we are going to shut down the border. We are going to do the border security. That is just point one. We have got to get that done. Two, we are going to repeal Biden’s disastrous economic policies, his Green New Deal. And we are going to have things that are going to help jumpstart this economy, things like full expensing so that we have more ability to produce manufacturing.”

The Florida Republican has been very vocal about immigration and has taken steps himself as a response to the end of Title 42, which was started under the Trump administration. DeSantis ended up deploying troops down to the southern border our country shares with Mexico in order to help ship illegal aliens to the state of California and paid the border a visit himself just last week.

This is something President Joe Biden himself has not done. Yes, he went down to the border, but he did not actually visit the spots where the illegal crossings are happening, therefore, it’s as if he never went at all.

“The governor criticized the Biden administration’s energy policy for contributing to inflation, he noted during a press conference in February. After his presidential announcement on May 24, DeSantis told Fox News’ Trey Gowdy reversing them is one of his top three presidential priorities, and argued innovation and gaining energy independence should be the focus of the U.S.’ energy policy,” Masters wrote.

“I have always rejected the politicization of the weather and I think what we should be doing in the United States is focusing on being energy-independent and making sure that we are utilizing the resources,” DeSantis stated during the interview. “When you have market-based solutions and when you innovate, in Florida we have seen emissions go down dramatically in the last 10 years, but that is through market and innovation.”

The Inflation Reduction Act, which did absolutely nothing to actually reduce inflation, was actually just a climate law and reconciliation package that contained a number of tax credits for the production of batteries that are used to power electric cars and other “energy-efficient” appliances and seeks to place limitations around emissions from fossil fuels.

“It is going to be more than just one because Biden expanded reconciliation,” remarked the Florida Republican. “They dumped a lot of stuff.”

Both DeSantis and Trump are running for president and our nation would be blessed to have either one in the Oval Office. Both men have made it clear they are serious about ending illegal immigration and ensuring that folks can’t enter our country illegally across the southern border.

Let’s hope that one of these two gets into office and fulfills their promises to make our nation safe again.
