(Republican Leader) – Former President Donald Trump made a huge announcement this week, making it official that he would be running for president in 2024, and while there were a lot of folks across the country who were excited by the news, there were two groups ready to pounce and start working behind the scenes to mount an offensive designed to get elections officials to stop him from being put on the ballot because of the incident that occurred at the Capitol building on Jan. 6, despite the fact that similar efforts launched against other Republicans have failed miserably.
Have you ever seen a politician be attacked more than Trump in the history of our country? It’s astounding. The radical left really, truly hates this man with a passion and if you ask them why, the only answers you’ll get are made up nonsense or just that he’s a “fascist,” proving that the number one item on everyone’s Christmas list this year should be a dictionary written before the woke mob took everything over and attempted to change the definition of words to suit their agenda.
According to ABC News, “Free Speech For People and Mi Familia Vota are launching a campaign via TrumpIsDisqualified.org to urge secretaries of state and other chief elections officials to bar the former president from running for office under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, known as the disqualification clause.”
“Enacted after the Civil War, the clause blocks any person from holding federal office who has taken an oath to protect the Constitution — including a member of Congress — but who has ‘engaged in insurrection’ against the U.S. or ‘given aid or comfort’ to its ‘enemies,'” Hannah Demissie wrote for the outlet.
“Free Speech For People previously filed challenges against other elected Republicans like Reps. Madison Cawthorn and Marjorie Taylor Greene, arguing their actions around Jan. 6 and support for overturning the 2020 election results amounted to the disqualifying behavior. Neither Cawthorn nor Greene participated in the rioting, though Cawthorn spoke at a Trump rally beforehand; Greene has stated she was a ‘victim’ along with other lawmakers,” Demissie continued.
Free Speech For People revealed that they intend to file similar legal challenges against the former president, though the group declined to provide additional details.
Trump himself has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing related to the riot at the Capitol.
“I can say that Donald Trump is going to face legal challenges for his eligibility, but he will also face scrutiny from secretaries of state and chief election officials, regardless of whether there will be a legal challenge,” John Bonifaz, co-founder and president for Free Speech For People went on to say. “So, it’s not required that there be a legal challenge for the secretary of state to hold up his or her responsibility and bar Donald Trump from the ballot.”
Why would anyone want to get behind the efforts of an organization that has no success whatsoever in getting an official or candidate barred from office? If you have never been able to complete your mission or goal, not even one time, how in the world are you going to convince people to jump on board your cause? This is truly absurd.
“The legal challenge that went the furthest was against Greene, resulting in a hearing at which she testified before an administrative law judge in Georgia ruled that she could stay on the ballot,” Demissie explained.
“Bonifaz told ABC News that secretaries of state and other chief elections have a ‘duty’ to stop Trump from running for public office under the disqualification clause,” the report said.
You know what’s strange? Radical progressive billionaire George Soros is actually providing significant funding for an organization that is geared toward urging secretaries of state and other election officials to prevent Trump from being on the 2024 ballot by using the 14th Amendment’s disqualification clause. Hmm. Interesting, isn’t it?
The radical billionaire has a well earned reputation for pouring billions of dollars into various progressive causes and organizations over the last thirty years, which includes providing cash and support for 75 district attorneys who favor soft-on-crime policies and have been blamed for causing the massive spike in crime being experienced across the nation. Soros is also a backer of drug legalization, euthanasia, open borders, globalism, the Black Lives Matter movement, devauling American currency, and defunding law enforcement departments.
These people are afraid of Trump. Pure and simple. They know he is a man who cannot be bought. He doesn’t need their money. The fact he will not be silenced or controlled through the promise of financial gain makes him dangerous to progressives. He stands in their way and will undo the foundation building they have been doing for decades now.
He will stand on principle. And that’s why so many individuals in the country love him.
